Lorrayne “Rayna” was born L.J. Case. She grew up the middle daughter of three girls Bobbi, Rayna and Carol. Later, her mother Roberta had a fourth daughter, Shelly Bell, who she loved very much as well. As a young girl, she loved growing up in Issaquah near Pine Lake. Her family had property at Beaver Lake for a time. Her memories of growing up then in a “simpler time” were precious. She was very patriotic and proud to be an American Citizen; she held all service members and veterans in high esteem.
Lorrayne was a quiet, practical person. She held her own strong opinions. Always sharp minded until the very end, she loved her children and grandkids very deeply. She was a protective mom and grandmother and did more than her fair share of worrying about all of us – but always insisted that we weren’t to worry about her- and insisted that she didn’t want to be a burden. She had a few close friends that she also held dear to her heart.
She and husband Ralph would play music in the early days of their marriage at country western and honkytonk venues. Mom played the drums, and dad played the steel, electric and spanish guitars beautifully,
Lorrayne gardened mostly roses and enjoyed her home and yard in Eastgate for 60 years. She was an avid reader and her vast book collection was so valued to her.
She swam for exercise later in life.
She knew that she’s lived a full life by the time her residence charged to Bellewood Senior Living in Issaquah, where she lived for four and a half years.
She will be missed by all who her knew her name and her memory will remain close to all.
Lorrayne was proceeded in death by her husband Ralph Gilliam in 2016 and her son Mark Gilliam in 2017
"May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
May God be with you and bless you;
May you see your children’s children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.
May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you."
