Marciana (Marcy) Garcia Lidron was born on December 12, 1944 in Cabayaoasan, Mangatarem, Pangasinan, Philippines to father, Solomon Lidron and mother, Pastora Garcia. Marcy was one of six children; elder siblings Rosalina, Prudencio, Aurelia, and younger siblings Benjamin, and Levita. Marcy attended college in the Philippines and taught English to primary school students.
Marcy arrived in the U.S. in 1966 and lived with relatives in Juneau, AK. It was there that Marcy met Lody “Damaso” Abad and fell in love. They decided to marry and settled in Seattle, WA. Marcy and Lody have one child, Ailene and two grandchildren, Ben and Erewyn. Marcy and Lody have been happily married for 52 years and recently celebrated their wedding anniversary.
Marcy enjoyed traveling, shopping, and spending time laughing and sharing delicious meals with friends. She felt fortunate in her blessings and was dedicated to helping her relatives in the Philippines, even though she lived on the other side of the world. Her retirement and physical restrictions never stopped her from sending her love and support to her family and friends.
Most of all, Marcy loved spending time with her family—her daughter Ailene, son-in-law Mychal, her precious grandchildren, Ben and Erewyn, and her devoted husband, Lody.
Marcy was a petite person, but she was fiercely strong in her opinions and never hesitated to clearly state her wants and desires. She had a generous heart and showered her family with endless love. Although Marcy suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and scleroderma for years, she fought through the pain. She did everything in her power to make sure she could be at home, in her own bed, and living on her own terms. When the time came for Marcy to finally leave this earth, she did so with her loving husband at her side.
Marcy can now rest in peace. Her warm and gentle smile, enormous heart, and fiery spirit will be dearly missed by us all.
A funeral service and visitation will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 6701 30th Ave. SW, Seattle, WA 98126.
Marcy will be laid to rest on Monday, June 29 at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA.
