Melinda was an amazing woman who from a young age, experienced great sadness. As a toddler she lost her mother and as a preteen, lost her father. We brought her into our family but her determination to pull herself up by her own bootstraps was insatiable. She truly was a success story, putting herself through school and earning her certificate as a Certified Medical Assistant. A cancer diagnosis in 2022 did not deter her from living a full life and she refused to let it steal from her the things she loved: Camping, cooking, fishing, crafting with her grandchildren and spending time with her friends. She was fearless, trying new things. She loved a great adventure and she loved to laugh. She was a cherished friend, sister, daughter and grandmother.
Our Seester’s last wishes were to be comforted by her closest, most trusted loved ones and with our blessing, returned to God. She is survived by the only mother she has ever known, Jacqueline, by her siblings and by her two young granddaughters.
At this time, we will observe a private ceremony with plans to honor her life at a later date.
