Merle Arlene Patterson

She was born to Ralph and Bernice Davis in Atkinson, Nebraska in March of 1928. Merle graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1946, being schooled in bookkeeping. She married Jack Patterson on September 12, 1947. They had 2 children, Debra Kay (1951) and Valerie Jo (1953). On September 12, 2021 they celebrated 74 years of marriage.

Merle first worked in accounts receivable and payable for Rosailia Florist. Stayed home to raise her girls. Then started one week a month with Arden Farms when the girls were older. She retired from Carnation Farms in University Village at 62 in 1990.

Merle was an unconditional loving, kind person and a great mom! Her actions showed Jesus love to everyone! She also loved being a youth leader with Jack at Shoreline Church. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, and playing the player piano, especially with her grand & great grandkids. She also loved waterskiing badminton square dancing, camping, board games and traveling abroad. Like Jack, Merle loved hosting anyone who needed a family. She prayed over us all, all the time!

Merle is preceded in death by Jack Patterson and survived by children Debra (Scott); Valerie (Ken); Grandchildren Kelsey (Lee); Tyler (Adina); Vonna (Matt); Kara (Devin); and six great grandchildren.
