Michael Lewis Burch

Born on October 6, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, Michael was the beloved son of Joseph and Llewlyn Burch. He grew up alongside his brothers, Bob, Dave, Paul, and Pat, forming lifelong family bonds that remained important to him throughout his life.

Michael shared 37 years together with 32 of those wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Ruth Carolyn Burch. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering support for one another. He was a proud father to Kim, Jeff, Zack, Walter, Sunny, Loyden, Mey, Trinity, Farm, Bizzy, Sarah, Christopher and his adopted sons, Gary Whitlow and Christian Romero as well as many of his children's friends that were accepted as family. He was also a cherished Papa to Alex, Kayleigh, Ryleigh, Darrion, Elizabeth, Tony, Leo, Coast, Ataliya, Carson, Meera, Vianey, Remy, Martin, Jadalyn, Mia, Rya, Ari, Katelyn, Kourtney, Kami, Kaynen and Kaylie.

Above all else, Michael was a provider whose greatest purpose was caring for his family. He treasured every moment spent with his wife and took immense pride in being present in the lives of his children and grandchildren. Whether it was swimming, fishing, clamming, bowling, or simply cheering them on in their activities, Michael found joy in sharing experiences and creating lasting memories with those he loved.

Michael dedicated his career to working as a Pile Buck and proud union member, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic, determination, and commitment to providing for his family. Through his years in the union, he built lifelong friendships and bonds with countless brothers and sisters who became an extension of his family. Their continued love, support, and loyalty throughout his life and to his family during this difficult time are a testament to the respect and admiration Michael earned from those who worked alongside him.

A devoted baseball fan, Michael was a loyal supporter of the Seattle Mariners and enjoyed spending time on the golf course. He had a curious mind and a passion for learning, never hesitating to teach himself something new. His determination and love of knowledge made him a formidable opponent for any newspaper crossword puzzle, which rarely stood a chance against him.

Michael's happiest moments were spent surrounded by the beautiful chaos of family gatherings, filled with laughter, good food, music, and the company of those he loved and who loved him in return. His favorite place was wherever his family was, and he found his greatest joy in seeing those around him happy.

Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, devotion, and family that will continue to live on through all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of his family, friends, and union brothers and sisters.
