Michael Trikur

October 31, 1933 - September 6, 2026

Miguel (Mike) Trikur was born in a small town on a farm in Czechoslovakia. He was the son of Miguel and Elena Trikur, the older brother of the late Juan Trikur, and the younger brother of the late Jorge Trikur.

During his early childhood and preteen years, Mike, his parents and Jorge moved to Paraguay. They lived there briefly until they decided to relocate to Argentina, where his parents opened up a little hardware store.

It was in that season when Mike began to learn various trades, such as carpentry and auto repair.

Mike also had a love for soccer and played the position of goalie on his school team. He thereafter began developing a love for photography, and pursued further education after graduating from high school.

In his early 20’s, Mike became an active part of the local church’s brass band, where he played trumpet. It was during this period in his life when his eye caught a lovely young lady named Sara Strok, who became his bride on January 10, 1959.

With the desire to provide a better life for their growing family, Mike and Sara immigrated to the United States and settled in the Philadelphia area in 1960.

After his initial desire to pursue a career in photography, Mike decided to become an auto mechanic. He eventually owned and operated two auto service stations in the Philadelphia area, from 1960 until 1976.

Thereafter, the Trikur family moved to the Pacific Northwest, where they settled in the Mercer Island, Washington area.

Mike continued working in the automotive industry until he retired, at which point he and Sara enjoyed a quiet life on Mercer Island, along with traveling and maintaining his vegetable garden.

Mike also enjoyed building things. Having those gifts, together with his love for true Argentinian ‘asado’ barbecue,

he built his own grill/brick oven, with imported parts from Argentina. He made the best chimichurri in town to accompany those delicious steaks!

Having been an avid fisherman, Mike very much enjoyed taking annual trips to Alaska for his salmon/halibut catch.

A wonderful conversationalist, with a great wit and sense of humor, Mike would talk about anything from religion to politics, and at the end of the day all were left laughing and smiling. This was how he developed a large circle of friends and loved ones through the years.

Mike and Sara very much enjoyed being a part of their local church, Neighborhood Church of Bellevue, Washington. There they developed lasting friendships through the years.

Mike leaves behind Sara, his beloved wife of 68 years, along with his four children, Robert (Lora), Dorothy, Daniel and Ruth.

‘Dido’ is lovingly adored by his grandchildren James (Lea), Aaron, Natasha (Jack), Kelly, Justin and Noah — along with his great-grandson Silas.

There are also a great number of extended family members and loved ones who have become part of Mike’s circle through the years.

Mike/’Dedi’/’Dido’ was a wonderful, hard-working, caring man who will be missed by his family, and so many others.

The family appreciates everyone’s love, prayers, sympathy and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed in Mike’s memory to Neighborhood Church, Bellevue, Washington.
