Born April 22, 1919 to Don and Odelia Dross in Forsyth, Montana. Passed away January 14, 2014 in Seattle. The family moved to Oak Point, WA when Mim was in the eighth grade. She graduated from R.A. Long High School in Longview, WA in 1937. With the implementation of gas rationing at the outbreak of World War II, and not wanting to be stranded in a small town, Mim and her friend Vi moved to Seattle, where she found a job at Rhodes Department Store. Later she went to work for the telephone company where she met her future husband, Will. They were married in 1947. After taking time off to raise a family she returned to work at Pacific Northwest Bell until retirement.
Mim and Will spent their retirement years traveling, taking several cruises throughout the world, and spending time enjoying family and friends.
Mim was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Wilfred Hildie, and her brothers James and Allen Dross. She is survived by daughter Sharon Davis (Tom), son Robert (Mary), grandchildren Spencer and Rachel Hildie and Jeff Pourtemount. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Columbia Lutheran Home for the compassionate care they gave Mim during her stay with them. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Columbia Lutheran Home, 4700 Phinney Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98103.
Arrangements under the direction of Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Seattle, Washington.
