Myrna Lavelle Goudy

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 11 am at Bethany Community Church, 8023 Green Lake Drive N., Seattle, WA 98103. In honor of Myrna, the family is requesting that you wear bright colors.

Myrna Lavelle Chase was born in Mabton, WA on October 10, 1931. She was the second child of Leland Willis Chase (1902-1964) and Alta Blanche McDaniel Chase (1910-1968). She is survived by her older brother, Leland Carroll Chase (Emma Lorene Pullin Chase), and sister, Carole Elaine Chase Schaffer Sword (Gary Sword). Her brother Charles Leroy Chase (1934-1999) (Isabel Frances Madden), preceded her in death.

Her father was a miner and the family moved to the mountains outside of Troy, Montana. She and her brothers rode the family pony to their one-room schoolhouse. When she finished eighth grade, Myrna had to board in town to attend high school.

Myrna met Donald Ernest Goudy through friends at high school and they were married on October 16, 1948 in Libby, Montana. She has four children: Eugene Donald Goudy, Debra Sue Goudy Dobrasz Self (James Rowe Self), Sherrill Lee Goudy Angell (Michael Andrew Angell) and Todd Edward Goudy (Dianne Marie Nelson Goudy).

Myrna leaves behind six grandchildren: Megan Joy Dobrasz, Kristina Lee Angell Speed (Bryan David Speed), Andrew Michael Angell (Amy Ann Wilson Angell), Ashley Lynn Goudy Arellin (Isaac Abram Arellin) and Jenna Marie Goudy. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Kristian Dobrasz (1977-2008) (Emily Moore Cason).

She was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Gunther James Kristian Cason, Isabelle Birch Cason, William Nicolas Cason and Amanda Ann Angell.

Myrna liked flowers, ice cream, playing games, singing and baseball. She loved spending time with her family.

Myrna is interred in the Lakeview Mausoleum at Acacia Memorial Park, 14951 Bothell Way NE, Seattle, 98115.
