

Nancy Lee Lightfoot of Kenmore passed away at the age of 81 on February 6th, 2014. Nancy was born on March 16th, 1932 in Vancouver, WA to Raymond and Cherie (Sutton) Forrest. She grew up participating in the Girl Scouts and spending afternoons flying with her father in his Piper Cub. Nancy graduated from Bend High School (Bend OR) in 1950; and attended Oregon State University before moving to Seattle. On September 26th 1953 Nancy married Harry “Hap” Lightfoot Jr, and 12 years later had a son, Barry. They enjoyed many wonderful memories out on their boat “NANCHAR”, exploring the Hood Canal, Puget Sound and the Canadian San Juan Islands. In 1978, Nancy took up skiing after a 25 year layoff and soon began working as a ski instructor for children with disabilities. She enjoyed many family vacations in the mountains skiing. Nancy began her working career as a Legal Transcriber, and from 1989 until her retirement in 2004, she proudly worked as a Mediator for the King County Superior Courts in family services helping with adoptions. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, H. L. “Hap" Lightfoot; and her parents; Raymond and Cherie Forrest and Brother Ray. She is survived by her son, Barry Lightfoot.
