She remained the optimistic, loving, outgoing and godly woman known and loved by so many until the last. A resident of Mountain View, California for most of her adult life, she will be remembered as a community-builder who hosted Block Parties on holidays, organized an after-school program for children and served as School Board President. She had a deep love for children and ran the children’s programs for both Foothill Covenant Church and Bible Study Fellowship in her area. She was a prominent member of the Mountain View First Presbyterian Church and then Foothill Covenant Church.
She moved to Seattle and joined Bethany Community Church where she helped organize the library and was an active member of prayer and Bible Study groups. In 2005, she moved into Crestwood Retirement Center where she again organized the library, ran the Friday night movie program and visited the local nursery school to tell Bible stories.
Born on May 28, 1926 to Beth Rankin Derryberry and Ward William Derryberry in Grand Junction, Colorado. Nancy had one younger brother, Ward William Derryberry, Jr. She married Charles Repenning (now deceased) in 1949 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and followed him to the Navajo Indian Reservation before settling in Mountain View, California. They had four children: Jeanne (married to Charley Forsberg), John (married to Sharon Jacobi Repenning), Patricia (married to Greg Collins) and William (married to Lisa Lockhart Repenning). One grandson (Samuel Forsberg) pre-deceases her and she is survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of faith, love and service to God and others that will long be remembered by all who knew her.
