Born October 24, 1923, peacefully passed away on September 28, 2016 surrounded by his family. A lifetime resident of Seattle, he was the youngest of four brothers, born in a house that his dad had built. He attended Lafayette Grade School, James Madison Junior High, and was a graduate of West Seattle High School. He was a typical teenager with a paper route, mowing lawns and had a key to the grade school where he enjoyed raising and lowering the flag for the custodian. He was an active member in the Order of DeMolay, a masonic-oriented youth organization participating as Preceptor, Chaplain, Steward and Master Councilor. He was a Korean War combat veteran, a Corporal in the U.S. Army, 955th Field Artillery, 24th Division. He worked at the Navy Shipyard in Bremerton and later was in a partnership with his father and brother building custom homes for many years. He was an avid sports fan, and also had the privilege of being an usher for the Billy Graham Crusade in 1976 at the Kingdome. He dearly loved his family and wife Joanne, who he married in 1955. He had four children, eight grandchildren and several sons- and daughters-in-law. He will be greatly missed by those that knew him.
