An over 30-year resident of Edmonds - born in Scottdale, PA on February 21, 1921, Dick passed away on November 2, 2007. His family moved to Seattle when he was a small child. He attended Roosevelt High School where he played center on the championship football team. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II after which he attended the University of Washington. He and his brother, Robert Irwin purchased a moving and storage company which they ran until their retirement. He enjoyed travel but his favorite pastime was golf and he loved it next to his family. He is survived by his wife, Elsie of over 60 years, son, Rick, Australia; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Mike Johnson, Woodway, WA; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Karen, Montesano, WA; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Colleen, Edmonds, WA. In addition to his children he was a proud and loving grandparent of 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild (born in September). A Memorial Service will be held January 5, 2008, at the Edmonds United Methodist Church after his son, Rick arrives from Australia.
