Robert Contzen Sundquist was born in Ray, ND, May 24, 1931 and died May 2, 2025. A day or two after his birth, the family moved to the family farm in Aneta, ND. (The rural postman had just acquired a new vehicle so he was enlisted to carry mother and infant to the new location.)
Bob was preceded in death by his nine siblings: John, Caroline, Helen, Oscar, Thelma, Wallace, Norman, Joanne, and Judy. He is survived by his wife, Sallie and son, Art and many nieces and nephews. He attended a one room grade school in Aneta and MacVille (ND) high school through the tenth grade when the family moved to Poulsbo, WA. He enlisted in the US Navy 1-10-51 and served during the end of the Korean conflict and beginning of the Vietnam war. He served on the USS Gunston Hall and the USS Menard. He attended the University of Puget Sound after his discharge from the Navy and then worked in Washington, D.C. where he met Sallie. They married Feb. 1, 1964, after which they moved to Seattle, purchased a home in northeast Seattle in 1965 where they have resided for the past 60 years.
