Roger L. Ellingson, aged 79, died September 16, 2013. He was born August 13, 1934 in San Francisco, CA to Lloyd and Muriel Ellingson, the eldest of three children. Roger served his country well in the US Army.
For over 50 years, Roger was a very active member of the Porsche Club of America, Pacific Northwest Region, and was active nationally as well. He was also a member of the Mercedes Club of North America. Obviously, he loved his automobiles. He would keep them in perfect condition both inside and out. One of his favorite things to do was to go to the Porsche factory in Germany to pick up his car. He would then tour around Europe. On at least one of those trips he visited Vienna and attended the opera there at the Vienna Opera House. Roger loved the Opera and classical music.
Besides travelling to Europe he had also traveled to China. At some point he even received his Commercial Pilot’s license.
When he wasn’t travelling he could be found at home with his constant companion, his cat, “Tiger.”
In his later years, Roger was a loving and faithful caretaker for his mother until the time of her passing.
He is survived by his sister, Sandy Butler of Phoenix, his brother, Dick Ellingson of Seattle, one nephew, Steve Ellingson, two nieces, Amy Hadley and Molly Holloway, and his beloved cat, Tiger.
