Rolf Hansen entered Valhalla on March 21st, 2019 after 90 years on this earth, cared for by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years Eli, his parents and his three brothers.
Rolf was born in Aker, Norway in 1928.He was the youngest of four brothers. He grew up in Oslo where he attended school and made many dear friends.
After graduating from high school Rolf served in the Norwegian Signal Corps post World War II. He participated in the Berlin Airlift in 1949. Upon returning to Norway Rolf began his University education and met and married his wife Eli.
Rolf and Eli emigrated to the US where he continued his education at the University of Washington, majoring in Electrical Engineering. Several years after graduating Rolf and Eli welcomed son Jorn in 1960. Rolf started his career at The Boeing Co where he would work for 30 years. After retiring Rolf and Eli traveled and enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially grandchildren Noah and Hannah, whom they adored.
Rolf was proud of his Norwegian heritage. Their home was filled with the language and foods of Norway. His friends and family in Norway were very important to him. He also had many close friends here in the US. Rolf enjoyed skiing, woodworking, photography, music and entertaining friends. He was also an avid World War ll buff.
Rolf is survived by his son Jorn, daughter-in-law Teresa, grandson Noah and granddaughter Hannah.
