Ruth Anna (Ingves) Sutherland was born in Kingston, WA to Axel and Alina Ingves. Ruth married Harley Sutherland in 1939. They went on to own Indianola General Store, Trenton Ave. Grocery in Bremerton, and Foodtime Grocery at Green Lake in Seattle. She later worked for Pay ‘N Save in the University District until her retirement.
Ruth enjoyed taking road strips to Reno and the Oregon Coast with Harley and later bus trips around the country with her friends. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She loved gardening, shopping, her little dog Annie, and having friends over for coffee.
Ruth was a widow for 38+ years which made family and friends her most important priority. Her kindness and sweet spirit will be dearly missed.
Ruth is survived by her 3 children- Marianne Swanson (Bill), John (Joan), Jeff (Kathy) as well as 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
