2023 at the age of 75 in Tacoma, Washington after battling dementia.
She was born on September 25th, 1948 to Riuji and Doris Takenishi in Honolulu, Hi. She
graduated from Kaimuki High School in 1966 and went on to do various banking and
secretarial jobs and eventually after 16 years of service retired from Kamehameha Schools in
2006.
In May 22, 1971 she got married to Roy Isara and had a son, Barry. Both her and Roy relocated
to Shoreline, WA from Hawaii shortly after her retirement to be closer to family. Spending time
and making memories with her grandkids was her extreme enjoyment. She was very social and
easy going, someone with a huge spirit and a great sense of humor. She will be missed..
On July 14th 2022, Roy passed away ending his fight with COPD and their marriage of 51
years. Roy was born on August 30th 1948 to Robert and Violet Isara. He graduate from
Farrington High School in 1966. He enlisted in the Army on October 9th, 1967 and was
honorably discharged 6 years later. He worked as a plumber for a couple places and eventually
retired from the State of Hawaii in 2005. He loved to work with his hands and loved to build
things. Even after his stroke he still found a way to build. He was strong, giving, and loved his
family in a quiet way. We love him for his “whatever” and laid back attitude.
Sandy and Roy are survived by their son and daughter-in-law, Susan and their grandchildren,
Kylie and Lucas.
