Sharon Yvonne Glazier (Follman) was born on September 9, 1940 to Bruce and Edna Follman. In her early years, growing up in North Dakota on a farm was quite a chore. Bruce and Edna moved west in the early 1940’s and began working for Paccar in the Kenworth Truck Plant in Seattle, Washington.
Graduating Franklin High School in 1958, Sharon headed off to college at Central Washington University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in education and met her future husband, John J. Glazier.
Sharon and John raised three sons together. Married to an avid outdoorsman and having three boys, she naturally became involved with the Boy Scouts and supported all their activities.
As a teacher, Sharon was always close to her sons… she and a close friend taught pre-school for many years at the Si View Park facility. She taught many of her sons’ lifelong friends how to tie their shoes and not eat their boogers! As her sons got older, Sharon took on additional responsibilities and moved to the middle school and eventually to Mount Si High School where she taught U.S. History and Home Economics classes to hundreds of students and current residents of Snoqualmie Valley.
Sharon loved puzzles and crafts and the Seattle Mariners… She hand sewed hundreds of Christmas ornaments and custom Christmas stockings over the years and all her sons still hang them from their Christmas trees every holiday season. She also loved to bake… and her pumpkin pies were incredible! However, if you’ve ever had her tuna casserole or meat loaf, that was a different story! John loved the meat loaf… her 3 boys did NOT !!!
John and her 3 sons were everything to Sharon… Wherever John was going, she was going too! No matter what the occasion or destination, she was along for the journey… unless John was going hunting which she’d prefer to skip Elk Camp. Her favorite things to do included traveling to Oregon to visit grandchildren and having coffee at Twede's Cafe with John, as they did together almost daily for over 40 years!
Sharon quietly passed away in her sleep on July 27th, 2019 after spending many precious hours with her sons earlier that day.
Preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Edna Follman; husband John and granddaughter Taylor. Survived by sons, Brian, Craig, and Darren Glazier; grandchildren Lauren, Jackson and Cameron Glazier; brother Barry Follman and niece DeDe LaCour.
We're going to miss you Mom!
