OBITUARY

Sylvester Conrad Iffert

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun. Of happy memories that I leave When my life is done.

Starbucks will never be the same. Sy left a lasting impression on the young and old alike. I first noticed him and his young driver Ian. Sy always sat in the same spot and it wasn’t always available so some of us became his place sitters. Eventually Starbucks made a plaque with a flag to mark Sy’s spot. Several of us claimed to be his Starbucks girlfriends. Casey , Sy’s beautiful wife played along. Eventually, the whole family became my friends.

Sy used to say seven year old Makayla chattered a lot. I loved it because at the same age I was accused of talking a lot. I told him he had good listening ears and that we, Makayla and I would probably not be able to stop so get used to it. He just gave me a huge grin. Bye, Sy
