Theresa Eva Sickles of Seattle, Washington, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2010, at the age of 91. Theresa was born in Carroll, Nebraska on November 28, 1918, to Elmer and Nora (Zeimer) Hughes, the second of four children. Theresa graduated from Chadron Teaching College and taught school in Nebraska for a short time before moving to Washington, where she married Robert Louis Sickles and raised her family. Theresa retired from Safeco Insurance Company in 1984 and spent her retirement years traveling all over the world. When not traveling, she enjoyed gardening, hiking, and spending time with her large family.
Theresa is survived by three daughters, Teri Cook and husband J., Kathy Waters, and Randa Momb and her husband Alex; as well as 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, sisters Florene Grigsby and Faye Jacobsen, and her close friend and companion for many years, Robert Farmer.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1973, her older brother Jerald, Sr., in 1984, and granddaughter Clara.
Services will be held at Acacia Memorial Park on Sunday, February 21, 2010, at 1:00 p.m.
