Thong Van Nguyen

Thong Nguyen, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19th 2021 at the Valley Medical Center in Renton, Washington. Thong Nguyen was born in 1930 to Tue Nguyen and Mui Tran. He married Thai Vu and has three sons, Toan, Quang and Bao Nguyen.

He graduated with a Civil Engineering and Hydraulic Engineering degree and had a very successful career. His career included leading as Chief of Engineering, Director, and Deputy Secretary General. Thong worked at several locations across the world from Vietnam, to France, to Thailand. In 1980, Thong’s family arrived to America where he continued work as a Design and Project Engineer residing in Washington.

Thong loved to practice Zen meditation and the integration of Buddhist practices into his daily life. He wrote and published several Buddhist articles as well. Thong was always very up to date with the latest trends in technology and was extremely tech savvy. He enjoyed reading, the computer, and watching films.

Thong is survived by his three sons and six grandchildren, three sisters, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Thong’s legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of family and friends with much love.
