I am truly sorry for the loss so many are feeling right now. Vern was a genuine friend, and supportive coworker. working with him these last 3.5 years was an experience that will not soon leave me. he was always willing to help out and was a friend to anyone who needed one. he embodied all of the Nintendo spirit and challenged others to be better every day. I spent a lot of time on our wellness website trying to keep up with Vern's step count, and will take that motivation with me going forward.

I know Vern for almost 30 years, a coworker and friend. I recall he came to my work area regularly with treats and big smiles waited patiently for Annie to go to lunch and break together; I often picked on him for that. When he married Annie, he was happy to be a husband and father. He was looking forward for Hannah to settle down and give him some grandkids.
Vern was in his prime of his life. All his dreams were started to come true. Unfortunately, his dreams have been cut short. Vern, you will be missed by many of us. I will miss your smile and unique voice. Please rest in peace.

How do you begin to talk about someone who influenced alot of your life? Everything I love in life is from Vern. The last time I physically saw him, was for another memorial. I wish I had kept in touch more, I adopted his habit of keeping my life secret and just living my own way.
I remember the times that he would visit, either bringing food, or a new game for me, my cousin and grandmother. I cherish all my memories, I still can't form the words I wish to say, except go into everything I know I'll miss him seeing, I'm glad he got to meet my son.
I miss him terribly, Really wish I had spent more time with him.
I will look at the things I own with more reverence in my draconic items I possess have a different shine to them. Always remember that license plate for Wyvern.
I love you, and send my best wishes to the rest of my family and hope to see them more often.

There isn't nothing I could say that everyone doesn't know. You are easily the sweetest and kindest gentle person I have ever known and I'm so proud that you are my big brother. The pain and sadness in my heart hurts so bad I don't know what to do. I know you wouldn't want me to make a fuss over you leaving but I can't help it. I love you so much and so many other people do also I will cherish the memories and the words of wisdom you always gave me. I'm so happy you met your beautiful wife and daughter and spent the last years of your life living your dream. Rest easy big bro I love you and I can't wait to see you again

Vern was always a friend and brother to me. He would always come and visit us in Idaho, call and talk to us about his life in Washington, keep in contact through letters. He was always there to help our growing family. In early 2000 our growing family was moving from eastern Idaho and I was overwhelmed with everything that needed to be done when I got a call from Vern and he offered to help Randy and I move to Boise, Idaho. He was always looking out for us and making sure we were taken care of and would tell us if ever we neede anything to give him a call. I was so happy when he married Annie and with Hanna their family was complete. Annie and Hanna we love you and are part of our family forever.

I like to tell you about my friend and colleague Vern,
We both started working at NOA Technical Services around 1989, got hired 1990. We first met at a meeting. He worked the day shift and I work the swing shift. From the beginning he showed genuine care for his work and people he touched through the repairs/projects that he did. He also did everything with almost perfection. It is not an accident that his supervisors and leads kept him through all the changes and downsizing.
Diabetes ran in his family and his parents suffered from it, but he decided to live a better life so made different choices so he can enjoy a better life.
He had a core group friends and they did fun stuff, from what I remember, it was the RC cars, Rollerblading, motorcycles, some martial arts, racket ball, worked out in the gym, Etc. Let’s say he lived life!
Probably the best thing that happened to him was getting married, He loved, cared, and adored his wife and stepdaughter.
About three years before I left Nintendo we got working together as Techs and got close. We talked and shared many things about life as we are close in age.
I will always cherish his friendship and remember Vern for his hard work, honesty, integrity, generosity, caring, willing to help anyone and his love for Dr. pepper, KFC and Chai drink.
He also did a lot of traveling. He would say I may not make it to retirement, his Psyche knew.
Nintendo was blessed in many ways to have him as an employee and the world is the better place because he lived in it.
I will miss you Buddy!
My condolences to all his friends and family!

“Words cannot express how heartbreaking it is to realize that Vern is not with us anymore. He has made a positive impact on all of our lives, and we are forever grateful to him for all he did for us. He was such a motivating worker whose work was an example for all of us. It is unbelievable how short one’s life can become. We miss him.”

My sweet, humored uncle. Always made me laugh. I remember the last time I saw you I was 6 I wish it was sooner than that. I miss you dearly and I pray for your lovely wife Annie and daughter Hanna for strength and peace at this time. Vern, my friend and coworker, you are at the best of your life ... I am so shaken and sadden your journey of life got cut short. I will always remember your smile and your kind words of wisdom about life you have given me.
Annie and Hanna, both of you were the best Vern have gotten in his life, he was always so proud of both of you. He was so thankful both of you helped him turned over a new leaf in his life, gave him hopes and joys. Hanna, Vern always felt so proud of you for every achievement you have made.
