

Vicky Marlene Mcfadden Donaldson, 73 passed away Tuesday, November 18 , 2014 surrounded by family and friends at Highline Hospital. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 10 at 430pm at Alki United Church of Christ address is: 6115 S.W. Hinds Street Seattle, WA. Reception to follow. Vicky was born in West Seattle on April 19, 1941 to Velva Mcfadden . Vicky has one surviving brother Gale Mcfadden and is preceded in death by brother Richard Smith, sister Barbara Gillespie, mother Velva Mcfadden, grandmother Mabel Oliver and grandfather Porter Oliver. Vicky grew up on Alki and went to our family church then called Alki Congregational. Vicky chose to marry, raise children, work, play, and remain a resident of West Seattle throughout her life. Vicky graduated from West Seattle High School in 1959. She had a lifelong career at Pacific Northwest Bell as a long distance operator where she worked until her retirement. Vicky loved the beach and wouldn’t give up an opportunity to drive/walk along the beach or to grab a bite to eat at Spuds on Alki. She participated in many West Seattle events and belonged to the West Seattle Eagles. She loved to dance and meet her friends for dinner at the Eagles. She enjoyed bowling on a league at West Seattle Bowl for many years. Vicky’s interest include spending time with her family (she loved her grandkids), dancing, bowling, listening to music, traveling, movies, and watching TV…..her favorites were: Who wants to be a Millionaire, Cash Cab, and Wheel of Fortune. Vicky is survived by Brother Gale Mcfadden, son Douglas Donaldson, daughter Virginia Coutcher, daughter in law Carrolann and son in law Anthony. She had four grandchildren Gregory, Kristine, Dylen , and Douglas Jr. She also had a new addition to the family her great granddaughter Ava. The Donaldson/Coutcher family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Highline Hospital for the care they gave our mother. They kept us informed and made sure that our mom was comfortable and cared for. We would also like to invite you to the memorial of our mother to celebrate her life and accomplishments on December 10 at 4:30pm Alki United Church of Christ.
