J.D. Young (eloped within 2 weeks). Survived by her daughter Lindajo Young Jarboe, Kirkland, WA with whom she resided & son Daniel S Young & wife Ginny, Palm Bay, FL., plus grandchildren Devin & Scott (Jarboe) & Joshua, Gabrielle, Heather, Nicholas & Nicollette (Young family ) & 5 great-grandchildren.
She was a strong minded woman who stood up for herself & followed her own path. Born & raised in Alabama, she traveled as part of a co-ed "Trekkers Club" while a teen. In the 1950's, she found & made a down-payment on a home while her husband was deployed. She worked full time, from her 20's, retiring as a bookkeeper & once applied for but cut up a credit card when it came in her husband's name rather than hers... As a role model she instilled similar traits of travel & following her own path in her daughter who she alone fully supported becoming a patrol officer in 1975. She also showed a softer side when her son wrecked her '57 Chevy. And as a loving & committed grandmother she found surprising presents including "Merlin" & a green legged black jumping thing that brought much laughter, including from her.
She is loved by her family across the Country & was secure in her belief she would see all again in Heaven.
