Vivian was born April 5, 1948 in Portland, Oregon to Martin and Erika Markewitz, the younger of two children. As a young girl, Vivian’s family moved to Seattle, Washington where she grew up and attended school. While attending the University of Washington after high school, she met and married Jim Kummerfeldt. Together they had two sons, Jason and Aaron. While raising a family, Vivian worked as a model, a bank teller, and later had a 20 year career with United Airlines, where she retired. Vivian had lost both parents years ago, and her husband Jim about the same time she retired. Steve Rottger came into her life and together, while both being retired, they became nearly inseparable. Becoming snowbirds in Arizona, they made new friends participating in a variety of activities. Summers were spent in the northwest filled with family and friends. She is survived by her sons Jason and Aaron, her companion Steve and her brother Ralph. Vivian enhanced the lives of those around her. She lived life to its fullest and family and friends meant everything to her.
Services for Vivian will be held at Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral Home on Saturday, April 26 beginning at 1:00 pm.
You are invited sign the online guestbook below, and to share your remembrances and condolences with the Kummerfeldt family.
