Wesley Berton Stewart

Born in Yakima, Washington, Wes spent nearly all of his life there. He met his wife of 62 years, Anna Naasz, while they attended A.C. Davis High School.

Wes entered the National Guard in December 1947, and later joined the U.S. Army in February 1950 to serve in the Korean Conflict.

Wes and Anna were married in Yakima in May 1952. Wes was honorably discharged from the Army in February 1953.

Wes and Anna had two sons, Steven and Douglas. Wes worked very hard to provide for his family; 25 years for National Grocers, and 11 years for the Yakima Public School District where he retired as head custodian at Gilbert Elementary. Wes took great pride in keeping the school in pristine condition.

In 2011, Wes and Anna moved to Des Moines, Washington so they could be closer to their sons.

Wes had a lifelong interest in electronics and automobiles. If you didn't find him in the house tinkering on a radio, television, police scanner or the like, then you would find him outside working on his car. It was often said; "You can eat off the engine of Wes' vehicles"

Wes is survived by his loving wife, Anna Stewart, his sons, Steven and Douglas (fiancée Amber Johnson). Grandaughter, Kayla Stewart - a great source of happiness and pride for Wes and Anna. Nephew, John (Marcia) Weist.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents William Clarence Stewart and Mae Ladine Stewart and his sister Cecile Weist.
