

Wilberta “Berta” Pierce passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Berta was born in Montana on December 10th 1953 to Daisy and Jerry Walker. She was one of 12 children. She grew up in Montana and moved to Seattle in the late 1960’s where she eventually had her two sons, Joe and Robert.
Berta worked for United Indians of All Tribes Foundation for 34 years. Berta loved her family, co-workers and friends. She had a giving spirit and would open her home to anyone for a meal or a visit. She loved playing Bingo, penny slot machines, watching movies with her grandkids, chatting on the phone with her friends and road trips to Montana to visit family.
Berta is preceded in death by her parents, brothers- Harley, Mead, Lawrence, Jerry, Harry and Eugene, sisters- Geraldine, Rosemary and Eleanor, and her beloved life partner Albert Hansen.
She is survived by her sons Joe and Robert Pierce, grandchildren Spencer (fiancé Karen-Ann) and Sophie, sisters Annie Muntz and Renee Walker, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 1pm at Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center located at 5011 Bernie Whitebear Way, Seattle, WA 98199 (in Discovery Park).
