

William C. Hord, 83, of Snohomish, Wash. passed away on April 4, 2016, in Harper, Kansas where he was being cared for by his step-daughter Dawn VanDenburgh. He married Della Mae Draper in 1968 and was preceded in death by her in December, 2015. Also preceding him were his parents and three of his children: Daniel, Tammy and Kim. He is survived by his step-children: Dawn VanDenburgh (Kenny), Debbie Olson (Don), Darrell Draper (Cindy), Dale Draper (Jenny); and his son, Bill Hord Thayer (Joyce); along with two sisters; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A beloved father and dedicated family man, Bill was loved by all who knew him. Bill grew up in the Bothell/Woodinville, Washington area, graduating from Bothell High School in 1951. He was proud of his childhood farm in Woodinville and of his career of more than 30 years with Puget Power Energy. He enjoyed traveling and spent his winters in Yuma, Arizona. He was a ham radio enthusiast for many years, an avid golfer and loved watching sports on television, especially the Mariners and Seahawks. He enjoyed socializing and playing cards with family and friends. He was a devote Christian, attending Martha Lake Baptist Church for many years and then Snohomish Cross View Church. He was a member of Gideon's International. A memorial service will be held April 30, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Cross View Church in Snohomish, Wash.
