William Thomas Harold Peters

William T. Peters passed away on August 21, 2026 at the age of 92. Bill was born in Seattle, Washington on April 20, 1934 to John and Juanita Peters. Bill had one brother, John, and two sisters, Jean and Barbara. Bill and his sisters grew up in Catholic orphanages and boarding schools. He attended O’Dea High School and West Seattle High School. He entered the Merchant Marines and traveled the world for several years before returning to Seattle.

Bill was introduced to Barbara Jean Colella by his sister Jean. Bill and Barbara married on November 22, 1957. They had three daughters. Through his marriage and work life, Bill found mentors in the generation before him. Those mentors helped guide him to build a strong family life. Bill worked as a truck driver and at times would work multiple jobs to provide the security and home environment he did not have growing up. This also allowed Barbara to stay at home with their daughters. Bill was an avid fisherman, an excellent woodworker including many home improvement projects, very artistic, and enjoyed attending the races at Longacres. While Barbara was an excellent cook, Bill had signature dishes he would make for his young daughters including Swedish pancakes in animal shapes and clam chowder. Bill was proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He was pleased to become a great-grandfather this past year.

Bill was preceded in death by his siblings and his wife, Barbara. He is survived by his sister-in-law Janice; daughter Valerie Peters-Simmons (Jim), granddaughter Victoria, great-grandson Bishop; daughter Cynthia Peters; daughter Natalie Wolff (Jack) and grandson Jack.

Bill was a generous donor to both the Catholic church and many other charities always wanting to share what he had.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Continuum Hospice staff. A private memorial will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Bill's name to the North Highline Fire District Aid Car Fund. Checks can be made payable to KCFD2 with a note that it is for the aid car fund and mailed to 900 Southwest 146th Street, Burien, WA 98166.
