Bill attended Lake Forest Park Elementary then graduated from Roosevelt High School and the University of Washington (Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity). He served during WWII in the Pacific as a US Navy Corpsman. His 41 year working career was spent in Real Estate, Insurance and Boyer Escrow where he made many lifetime friends.
Bill’s way of life was the “Great Out-of-Doors”. Highlights of his 88 years include growing up in Lake Forest Park with his brothers Peter (deceased) and Paul. Hiking, fishing, camping, hunting and skiing in the Cascade Mountains were among his favorite pastimes. He was a lifetime member of the Boy Scouts of America, earning the prestigious Silver Beaver Award; a member of the Lake Forest Park Presbyterian Church, University of Washington Alumni Assn., Pacific NW Ski Assn. and Pacific NW Ski Education Foundation.
The shining lights in Bill’s life were his beloved wife of 62 years, Carmella; his devoted three children Denise (Tom Peckham), Klev (Rebecca), Dana (Robert Bracht) and seven caring grandchildren; Marissa (Andrew Alwood, fiancé), Alexis (Jon Vetter), Klev, Kohl, Stine, Jens and Erik. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday March 7th, 2014 3pm at the Lake Forest Park Presbyterian Church, 17440 Brookside Blvd NE, Lake Forest Park, WA.
Bill’s favorite charities are Seattle Children’s Hospital and Boy Scouts of America.
