Yvonne Marie Porko, beloved mother, grandmother and widow of Carl Alan Porko passed away in the presence of her family on March 2nd due to heart failure. She had also endured a battle with COPD for several years.
Marie was born in 1940 in Everett, Washington to Winfred and Olga Harvey. As a child her family traveled and spent time in Montana, Oregon and California. Marie loved animals and had a collection of pets including cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs. She loved the outdoors and would spend time riding her bike to Forest Park in Everett. Marie attended Catholic school and was a devote Catholic throughout her life.
After high school, Marie's first job was with Safeco Insurance in Seattle. In 1961, she married Carl and in 1964 they had their only child, David Porko. Marie, Carl and David loved the outdoors and would camp, hike, ride bikes and explore as often as they could. Many Sundays were spent having picnics at local parks or beaches. Marie was a housewife until David attended college at which point she returned to work at Safeco Insurance and later Symetra Financial where she eventually retired.
Marie will be dearly missed by her friends and her son David, her daughter in-law, Patrice and her two grandsons, Nicholas and Nathan.
