Alice Rose O’Connor

Born in Jersey City, NJ, to Alice Marie and Anthony Pasquale.

Loving mother of Alice Marie O’Connor-Alessi and her husband Michael, and John Thomas O’Connor Sr. and his wife Donna; cherished grandmother of Donna Michele Guerreros and her husband Alexis, and John Anthony O’Connor and his wife Kelly; adoring great-grandmother of Erin Duffy O’Connor and John Thomas O’Connor III; and dear sister of James Pasqualeand his wife Carolyn, and Judith Kilroy and her husband Charles. Alice also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, close family members and dear friends.

Alice was employed with the Jersey City Child Development Centers Head Start for forty years. She also served as the president of the Mother’s Guild for the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Hoboken, NJ. Alice loved spending time with her family hosting holiday celebrations and family gatherings. In her spare time, she crocheted and attended sports activities with her great-grandchildren. She would frequently be seen with her pet Sheltie, Grace, outside waving to the neighbors. Alice volunteered with the Girl Scouts and the ASPCA in Jersey City for many years.

Visitation for Alice will be held at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094, on Tuesday, June 2, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Wednesday, June 3, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Immaculate Conception RC Church, 1219 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094, on Thursday, June 4, at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City, NJ.
