Anna (Mezzina) Maresca, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 26, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on April 25, 1936, in Hoboken, New Jersey, to the late Berardino and Maria (LaForgia) Mezzina. Anna lived in Hoboken for much of her life before moving to Secaucus, where she resided for the past 40 years.
As a teenager, Anna worked at the original Carlo’s Bakery on Adams Street in Hoboken. She later worked for several years in the Rectory of Saints Peter and Paul Church and spent 20 years as an executive assistant at Stevens Institute of Technology before retiring more than four decades ago.
Anna was deeply involved in her community. She served as a past president of the Mothers Guild at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Hoboken and was an active member of the Secaucus Senior Center. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. Above all, her greatest joy was being surrounded by her beloved family.
Anna was the loving wife of 43 years to the late Joseph Maresca; the devoted mother of JoAnn Forese, Susan Maresca and her husband Alberto Ortega, and Karen Celebrano and her husband Michael; and the cherished grandmother of Larissa Forese and her fiancé Adam Young, Breana Celebrano and her boyfriend Justin Choka, and Maxx Celebrano. She was the beloved sister of Fred Mezzina and his wife Barbara, and the late Vincenza Cristantiello, Marie Menzie, and Bernadine Poss. Anna is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A private visitation will be held at Mack Memorial Home on Wednesday, October 29th, followed by a Catholic Prayer Service and burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Anna’s name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
