Anthony D Malanka
March 29, 1929 – July 30, 2018
Anthony D. “Tony” Malanka, age 89 of Secaucus, passed away peacefully, among family, on Monday, July 30th, 2018 at his home.
Born in Union City to the late Daniel and Philomena (Capone) Malanka, Anthony was a graduate of Emerson High School,NJ, where he was an All State football player and inducted into the Emerson Sports Hall of Fame. He then graduated NYU with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Commerce. Tony was also a Korean War era veteran. Tony held various executive positions, including president, at C.F. Malanka and Sons, a construction and waste management firm.
Predeceased by two wives, Barbara (Pomeroy) Malanka and Alma (Tyler) Malanka, Anthony is survived by his sons Daniel and his wife Susan, Thomas and Stella Targi, Tim Malanka-Pomeroy and his wife Elizabeth Pomeroy, daughters Toni Anne Malanka-Nunez and her husband Wilfredo Nunez and Donna Caggiano and her husband Jim; grandchildren T.J., Patrick, John, Anthony, Roni, Josh, Katie, Daniel, Ingrid, and Sonja; and great-grandchildren Robert and Jude
A visitation for Anthony will be held on Sunday, August 5th, 2018 from 3-8PM at the Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. A graveside service will be held Monday, August 6th, 11AM at Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to AFA, the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, in memory of Anthony Malanka.
