Born to Salvatore and Emma Dispoto on December 10, 1941 in Jersey City, he later moved to Secaucus in 1956 with his mother and stepfather Salvatore Vallone and his siblings. He served proudly in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1965, which took him from Virginia Beach to Iceland.
Charlie married his soulmate Laraine on June 22, 1974. They settled in Secaucus and raised a family. He worked more than 40 years as a driver for UPS, where he made lifelong friends.
Charlie and Laraine retired to Barnegat, NJ in 2002. They made countless friends and lived life to the fullest and remained inseparable until she passed in September 2019 after 45 years of blissful marriage.
Following her death, he returned to Secaucus to spend his final years closer to his family and made everyone’s lives better with his persistent good cheer, advice, caring, guidance and sense of humor.
Charlie loved cars, Italian food, cooking and baking, fishing, boating, music, movies, tools and gadgets. He always had a story to tell, could fix anything and was always eager to help anyone who needed it. But family was his life.
Charlie is survived by his devoted sons, Patrick and his wife Laura, John, and Carl Jr. and his wife Tracey; adored grandchildren Lucas, Alex, Jonathan and Madison; and loving brothers Robert and his wife Kim and Dennis and his wife Roseann.
A visitation for Charlie will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 4 to 8PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. His Cremation will be private.
