He is survived by his parents Mentor & Luz, his children Christina, Carlos Jr., Madison, brother Alfonso (Fanny), sister Jackie Campoverde (Victor), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends along with his Masonic Brothers who will continue to honor his memory. Carlos was pre-deceased by his eldest brother, Francisco.
Carlos had an impactful and full life, filled with love and adventure and doing the things he loved the most with the people he loved by his side. The love he had for his parents was a testament to his character, upbringing, and the strong moral values they instilled in him. He had an especially positive and social personality, a hearty unmistakable laugh, a generous spirit, a deep and patriotic love for his country…proudly displaying the American flag always. As an animal lover, he filled the family home with a diverse assortment of pets that he genuinely loved and cared for. Carlos’ passion for life was clear in all that he did.
Carlos held an abiding passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, a lifelong love that began in his teenage years. The freedom of the open road and the roar of a powerful engine was where he felt most alive. The camaraderie and brotherhood found within the motorcycle community were as vital to him as the machine itself, fostering friendships that became family.
Beyond the world of two wheels, Carlos was a proud and dedicated member of Euclid Lodge No. 136 Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. He embodied the true spirit of brotherhood, committed to the tenets of Freemasonry and the welfare of his fellow man. He became Master Mason on April 9, 2010 and Worshipful Master for his lodge in 2016. In 2017 he was elected as the Rite Worshipful Grand Sword Bearer for the Grand Lodge of New Jersey.
In addition to his loving family, Carlos leaves behind countless friends whose lives were changed by his kindness, wisdom, and steadfast support. A mentor to many, he found great purpose in helping others through life's struggles. He leaves behind Anthony Mazzilli, a mentee who became a beloved son to him.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carlos may be made to Children’s Dyslexia Center of NJ, Hasbrouck Heights Learning Center.
