Carmela Ortizzo

Born in Molfetta, Italy to Lucrezia and Sergio Camporeale.

Carmela’s legacy is woven with love and stitches. As a dedicated seamstress for many years, she crafted more than just fabric - she created lasting memories for her children and grandchildren. Family vacations were moments of joy she cherished, stitching bonds that endured beyond time. She adored her friends and together, they shared laughter, creating a vibrant tapestry of friendship that added warmth through the years.

Beloved wife of the late Vito Ortizzo; loving mother of Marisa Iacopelli, Lillian Coyle and her husband Brian, and Saverio Ortizzo and his wife Kristin; cherished grandmother of Massimo and Sianna Iacopelli, Patrick, Ryan and Michael Coyle, and Vita, Gabriella and Luca Ortizzo. Dear sister of Caterina Salvemini and her husband Nicola, Giovanna Brattoli and her husband Cosmo, and Bart Camporeale and his wife Isabelle. Carmela also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, close family members, and dear friends.

A visitation for Carmela will be held Tuesday, January 23 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, January 24 at 9:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Secaucus, NJ. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carmela’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
