Born in Englewood, NJ to Louise (Kistner) and Donald Weber. She was the beloved wife of 64 years to Robert A. Hartung, Sr., loving mother of Donna Freeswick and her husband Bill, the late Robert A. Hartung, Jr., and Michael Hartung and his wife Sue; cherished grandmother of Melissa Freeswick-Magro and her husband John, Billy and Jessica Freeswick, and Taylor, Brooke, Somer, and Michael Hartung Jr., and dear sister of Dorothy Rosso and her late husband Charlie, Donald Weber, and his wife Mary, the late Janet Scheri, the late Paul Weber, and Steven Weber and his wife Sheila.
Carol had a zest for enjoying her life and its simple pleasures with friends and family. She was a dedicated bingo and poker enthusiast, hosting weekly gatherings with friends in her early years and frequenting to Atlantic City for dinner and shows in retirement with her husband, Bob. She had a love of dancing and oldies music, and believed wearing a bit of sparkle or a hint of leopard could brighten any day. Her most endearing quality was her infectious laugh and her snappy sense of humor that made her presence a source of lighthearted fun for anyone she was with.
Though we mourn her passing, we want to celebrate her life lived with passion and laughter. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
A visitation for Carol will be held Thursday, October 19 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 20 at 11:00 AM at Mack Memorial Home. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
