Charles was born in Jersey City, NJ and raised in Lyndhurst, NJ. He entered into Columbia College, Columbia University at the age of 16. After graduating he worked in New York City for West Point Pepperell, a textile company. He moved to Sayreville, NJ with his first wife Carol and their three children. Charles served on the town council and became Sayreville's Conservation Commissioner. Over the years Charles served on various congressional, senate boards and committees representing the US Textile industry. Charles accepted a position with American Textile Manufacturing Institute and moved to Arlington, VA to become Vice President of International Trade. Upon retirement Charles moved to Secaucus, NJ to be closer to his children and grandchildren, as well as his beloved Yankees. Charles loved to play basketball and softball, grow roses, and listen to his extensive classical music collection. He enjoyed travel, wines, and watching Jeopardy. Charles is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jennifer; his children Debbie Bremer, Allison and Tom Hornbeck, Erich Bremer, and his two grandchildren, Carol and Ben Hornbeck.
