Edward was born on October 6th, 1940 in Secaucus, NJ to Edward Feinhals Sr and Alma (Werner) Feinhals. He graduated from Weehawken high school. He married the love of his life, Janet Krause in 1961 and together they built a family rooted in love.
Edward and Janet were blessed with two daughters, Susan Capone (husband Carmine) and Linda Feinhals-Barrios (husband Julian). He was a proud grandfather (“Opa”) to Cassidy Barrios, Nicholas Capone, Andrew Capone (fiancé Caitlyn Bardi), Christopher Capone (wife Erica), and Jeffery Capone (wife Ashley), and a beloved great-grandfather to Arya and Jaxon.
In his younger years, Ed was an esteemed bowler and placed in the top 3 of many tournaments during his time as a member of the Professional Bowling Association (PBA). He was also an assistant coach for the P.A.L. Bowling League where his father and Martin (Red) Hossam were directors. Ed enjoyed coaching the young teenagers of Secaucus every Saturday morning at Columbia Park Lanes for years.
Ed had a long career. He worked at Turnpike Ford Truck Dealership as a New Truck Prep Mechanic before he became the Assistant Manager of the Truck Rental Department. He also worked part-time at the Bowling Alley while he was a Truck Mechanic. He went on to work for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority where he retired after 12 years of service. Following retirement, he enjoyed working part-time as a Medical Transport Driver for the city of Secaucus ensuring citizens in need of care arrived at their appointments and back home safely.
Beyond his work, Ed was an active community member. He was a proud and distinguished Brother of the Secaucus Hudson 72 Masonic Lodge where he helped plan and participated in community events and fundraisers. He often shared stories of good times spent with his fellow Brothers. Ed was also on the Secaucus bocce league which he truly enjoyed; his team winning the championship many times. He had hoped to return to play in the playoffs this year. Edward was a man of faith; a parishioner of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
Outside of his presence in the Secaucus community, Ed took every opportunity to be with his family. He loved being together with his grandchildren, watching golf, and cheering on his favorite sports teams - the New York Giants, Mets, and Yankees. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
Edward is predeceased by his father Edward Sr., Mother Alma, wife Janet, and their daughter Linda.
