Emilio was very smart, loving, witty and athletic (captain of both football and baseball HS teams). He had a desire to learn, to read, to know! He could talk about anything with anyone.
He loved National Parks, nature and the beauty of it. He got to visit many of them.
He loved staying active, whether it was at the gym, golf with dad or pickle ball with Jen. He loved family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving.
His smile was contagious and infectious.
Since his first bipolar episode in October 2024, things were not the same. 2025 was a challenging year.
There are no words to express how dearly he will be missed.
Emilio was predeceased by his grandparents Roberto Gutierrez, Iraida Almodovar, and Ildefonso Acosta-Garcia, and his aunt Jennifer Gutierrez. He is survived by his parents Ildefonso Acosta and Claudia Gutierrez, his sister Jennifer Acosta, his grandmother Gloria Matamoros, his uncles Edgardo Acosta and Christopher Gravagna, and his cousins Edaliz, Dalied and Camile Acosta, and Julia and Christopher Gravagna.
A Memorial Gathering for Emilio will be held at St. Lawrence RC Church, 22 Hackensack Avenue, Weehawken, NJ 07086, on April 30, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Mass.
