Gaetano P. DeFazio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, at the age of 89, and was a resident of Secaucus, New Jersey. Gaetano lovingly known as “Tommy” was born in Hoboken, NJ to the late Carmine and Jenny (Ruocco) DeFazio and lived there until moving to Secaucus over 60 years ago. He was the Co-Owner of AQL Decorating in Fairview for 54 years before retiring in 2010.
Tommy was the loving husband of 67 years to his wife Kathleen (LeoGrande) DeFazio, The devoted father of Guy DeFazio and his wife Janice, Francine DeNaro and her husband Joseph, the late Kevin DeFazio, Craig DeFazio and his wife Cindy; Cherished Grandfather of Guy Michael DeFazio and his wife Susan, Jennifer Williams and her husband Matthew, Christopher DeFazio and his wife Samantha, Gabrielle DeFazio, Tyler DeFazio, Nicolette DeFazio and her fiancé Matthew Tantillo, Michael DeNaro, and Francesca DeNaro; Great grandfather of Steven DeFazio, Lillian DeFazio, Grace DeFazio, Anthony DeFazio, and Georgina Williams; brother of Anna Vitolo and her husband the late Joseph, late Marie Rando and her husband the late Alfred, and the late Nancy Fatone and her husband Alfred; he is also survived by a brother in law Joseph LeoGrande, and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
His Visitation will be held at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ on Monday, September 14th, 2026 from 3pm to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:45am at The Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 1219 Paterson Plank Rd, Secaucus, on Tuesday, September 15th followed by his entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ.
