George Romano (Gig), 86, a lifelong resident of Secaucus passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. George was a WW II veteran who served in the United States Navy. George worked for George M. Brewster Construction Company and Mason Dixon Trucking Company. He is a retired member of Local 560 Teamsters Union. He served as a member and Captain of Chicora Park Hose Company 3 Fire House. George is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Anna (nee: Arberg) Romano, his sister Marie and brother-in-law Joseph DeMartine. George was also a loving father of two sons, Keith and Wayne, two daughters, Kim Bove and Kathi Mansfield, and father-in-law to Debbie, Diana and Michael Bove; a cherished grandfather to Kellie, Jaime, Crystal, Brittany, Nicole, Patrick and Eric; Great grandfather of Sierra, Travis, Jason, Ashley, Alyissa and Braden. Visitation will be held today (Friday) from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus. The family will gather at the funeral home with their relatives and friends on Saturday at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM funeral Service. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donation in memory of George may be made to The American Parkinson Disease Association 135 Parkinson Avenue Staten Island, NY 10305.
