Born in Ecuador, Guido came to the United States and built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work. He worked for many years as a taxi driver with Babe's Taxi in Fort Lee.
Guido was a man of many passions. He loved singing in his church choir and found great joy in music and faith. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed playing tennis, racquetball, volleyball, soccer, and just about any activity that kept him moving. He also enjoyed playing chess, taking walks in the park, and, perhaps most famously, fixing things—even when they weren't broken.
Above all else, Guido was devoted to his family. He shared an everlasting love with his beloved wife, Gloria Guevara, and treasured every moment they spent together. He was a loving father to his son, John Guevara, and his daughter, Gloria Vrabel. His grandchildren, Johnny, Tommy, and Josie, were the light of his life and his greatest happiness. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with them, sharing stories, and cheering them on at anything they did.
Those who knew Guido will remember his kind heart, generous spirit, and endless desire to stay busy. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, teach someone a new skill, fix a household problem, or show a child how to play a sport. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved telling stories about his childhood adventures, and could always be counted on to bring a smile to those around him.
Guido's kindness, warmth, and love touched countless lives. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A Memorial Mass will be offered in his honor at Immaculate Concepion R. C. Church on Friday June 19th at 9:30am, all who would like to attend the Mass are asked to go directly to the church; there will be no services at the Funeral Home.
