Jacquelyn T. Schmitt of Secaucus, NJ passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2025, surrounded by her family. Jacquelyn was born in Jersey City, NJ to the late Frederick and Ellen (Conroy) Schmitt and has been a lifelong resident of Secaucus.
Jacquelyn is survived by her loving children, Janelle Biamonte and her husband Martin De La Cruz & Nicholas Biamonte and his fiancé Nikki Zozzaro; her devoted sisters Patricia Jasiczek and her husband Stas, and Barbara Schmitt; as well as many loving extended family members and friends. She is predeceased by her loving siblings, Raymond Schmitt and Frederick Schmitt.
Jackie, as she was called by all loved ones and friends, had a true purpose in life of being a mother. It was her dream ever since she was a young girl. She was not only an incredibly devoted mom to her two children, but was caring and compassionate to those in need, never hesitating to help another person or animal (which she has rescued many). She always knew the right thing to do or say, always leading with empathy and a maternal intuition.
Jackie was an avid animal and chocolate lover, often saying “You can never have a bad day with a mouth full of chocolate”. She was a Librarian Clerk for The Secaucus Library for over 15 years, being the bright, welcoming face of the front desk for those who came through the doors. She enjoyed curating and choosing weekly movies for patrons to enjoy.
Jackie had a dry and quick-witted sense of humor, as well a strong sense of what she believed in. Her sense of humor and strength continues to live through her two children, Janelle and Nicholas.
May she rest in peace knowing that she will be forever remembered and deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate Jacquelyn’s life on May 9, 2025, from 4pm – 8pm at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ, followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial the next morning on May 10 ,2025. All are welcome to attend. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made in her honor to The American Humane Society www.americanhumane.org
