Born in Germany, James later immigrated to the United States, where he first lived in Bayonne before making Secaucus his home more than 32 years ago. He dedicated many years to education as a teacher with the Weehawken Board of Education. However, he was best known as "Coach P.," having devoted countless years to coaching a variety of sports in Weehawken and positively impacting the lives of generations of student-athletes.
James is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Roseanna (Lacenere) Panepinto, and his cherished sons, Michael and Christopher Panepinto. He was predeceased by his siblings, Andrew and Rose Marie.
Visitation will be held at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cremation will be private.
