To my Uncle & Godfather, I miss you so much. I was extremely blessed to have you in my life. You were always the cool uncle with the best sense of style, and I am forever grateful for all the cool Italian clothes you let me borrow, I am extremely lucky we are the same size. I wish I had a chance to say goodbye to you and let you know the positive impact you have forever made in my life. I love you and I miss you. Rest easy, you are forever in my heart.

I remember working with John back at Mutual Benefit Life in the 80’s. He always had a smile on his face - nice guy all around. RIP

I met John at AJ Demarest Jr. HS in 1973 as I had just arrived in the US with my family coincidentally on the same SS Raffaello cruise liner just a few years after he did. Like John and many other Italian immigrant families we settled in our beloved Hoboken. John was my first friend to help me understand what was going on in Mr Giordano's class as English was not in my vernacular at that time. We graduated together in 1978 and kept in touch for several years until work and family took precedence. We eventually reconnected several years later and caught up on all that had transpired since we had last seen each other which seemed like a life time, I just wished we had more of those times. John was a funny guy who had an infectious laugh that spilled over to those around him. He will certainly be missed.
Praying for the entire family...may God comfort you and grant you peace while bringing to remembrance all the good times and memories.
Rest In Peace my dear friend.

Sincere condoglianze alla famiglia DeCandia.

Your friend,
Elio
