

She spent most of her life in Weehawken, NJ where she raised her family, before moving to RI in 2023. Leslie worked in Manhattan for many years in commodities logistics for Cargill, and Mitsubishi before retiring in 2013.
Born in Jersey City, NJ on August 27, 1942 to the late Peter and Helen Perla, Leslie grew up in North Bergen before marrying and moving to Weehawken.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Leslie will be remembered for her easy going personality, and love of reading and old movies. She loved to decorate her home, and was equally comfortable darting in and out of Madison Avenue boutiques, as well as bargain outlets too!
Survivors include her sons Gene Valicenti, and his wife Diane, of East Greenwich, RI, and Anthony, and his wife Kathleen of Weehawken, NJ., and 6 granddaughters, Alexandra, and her husband Cole DuMond, Natalie, Sophia, Giselle, Antonia, and Gianna Valicenti. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Angela, with whom she shall be laid to rest. She is also survived by a sister Paulette Perla, and a brother Victor Perla, and his wife Margaret.
Calling hours are from 4 to 8pm Tuesday June 9th at the Leber Funeral Home in Secaucus, NJ with a funeral mass Wednesday June 10 at 10:30am at St. Rocco's RC Church in Union City, followed by interment at Flower Hill Mausoleum in West New York, NJ.
