Born in Bronx NY to Dorothy & Joseph Archetti
Precocious child gifted in Science, Math, Art & Music, able to play music by ear, skilled in keyboards of different types & his cherished Hammond B3 Organ.
True friend and a kind heart to everyone, whether he barely knew or just met you, Louie loved people.
A longtime resident of Secaucus and a man who helped without being asked, whether a friend's deli or auto shop. When living on the corner of Clarendon & 7th streets, he would enjoy using his snowblower to ensure everyone's front sidewalk was clean without being asked, whether he knew their names or not, and always with enthusiasm and a smile. If he didn't already know how to fix what you needed, he would show up with his tools and a smile and figure it out for you.
Skilled in telling a joke or funny anecdote, Lou would converse with everyone, often doing all the voices of the characters. He loved to make people laugh.
Highly intelligent, but never flaunting it, Louie graduated from Aviation High School in Bronx, NY and enrolled in Brooklyn Polytechnical School to further his dream to become an Aerospace Engineer. As the economic climate changed, but before layoffs became rampant, Lou switched careers and enrolled in the New York Sheet Metal Workers 4 Year Apprenticeship Program which he completed successfully while working in the industry at the same time. Louie worked for SMWIA Local 28 in a distinguished career as a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker and Certified Welder for more than three decades, where he worked on many of the most famous skyscrapers in New York City, including the World Trade Center.
Music came naturally to Louie, who at the age of 12, with early bandmembers, performed at the NY State Worlds ’Fair. Eventually playing multiple keyboards, including Synthesizer and his treasured Hammond B3 Organ, Louie sang and performed on the music trail where his second "job" took him on mini journeys almost every weekend. Louie always enjoyed this favorite time as singer and keyboardist along with fellow band members and friends he has still to this day.
Predeceased by his adoring parents, Dorothy and Joseph Archetti, Louie is survived by his cherished daughter, Alexandra Archetti Bergeron and her spouse, John; brothers Richard Archetti and his spouse, Louise; Ronald Archetti and his spouse, Kevin; and Andrew (Max) and his spouse, Dana; aunts Francie Kelleher and Carmen Archetti, and many beloved cousins,
nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, along with lifetime friends and new friends, who made this lifelong journey with him that has now ended all too soon.
A public Memorial Funeral Mass for Louie is being celebrated on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 111 Claremont Rd, Bernardsville, NJ.
Following Reception is requested private time for family and close friends.
