As I go through all the photos , I see a loving , fun family who truly loved one another. Lukie was the head of this great clan who really knew how to live life! When I was younger I spent some time in their home. What a place to be..Every one coming and going and she would always ask if you were hungry! Such a warm place where I also met Aunt Millie and became friends for life. I know Lukie is now with her sister. R.I.P

Dear Mommy Smith,
I will never forget our fiirst introduction on Golden Ave when I tripped into the front door and your "colorful" response.  What an icebreaker! You often told me these expressions were your "only vice'. I remember how relieved I was when I accepted a cup of coffee from you, because you didn't trust anyone who didn't drink coffee. So many things will remind me of you in the future: Dunkin Donuts, Canada Dry sugarfee ginger ale, Dionne Warwick (thanks to Tom's stories of music growing up in his home), your fancy cigarettes, house coats, scratch offs, General Hospital, yellow Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizer, Tres Emme hair spray, Shalimar, and your love for your patron St. Anne,
Thank you for your sweet stories about Tom, your toughest delivery, but how special he was, because he was born with a veil. "Everyone stopped you to tell you he was a most beautiful baby." Thank you for always remembering to call me on my birthday and whenever you knew I was sick or in the hospital, always making sure I had bottled water and enough to eat at your table, and always making me feel loved and accepted. Thank you most for the gifts of Tom and Leah. My life is better, because I love them and love you and Daddy and your whole crew.
You were a force like no one I ever met. I loved you, and I will miss you so very much. I have no doubt there will be many amazing, celebratory card games in Heaven!
To Tom and Leah,
Thank you for sharing Mommy/Nanny with me for almost 16 years!!
To Daddy Smith and all my Smiths:
May you feel her presence every day!
Love, Hugs, and Aglio E Oilo forever!

I am so glad that I got to grow with you family for many years. I learned a lot from you especially many delicious cooking recipes. And to say the words I love every time we left. I didn't have that in my family growing up and now that tradition is a part of my family forever.I was very saddened to hear that you had passed and feel so bad that I can't be there to pay my respects because I live 6 hours away. I am so grateful that I got to spend Christmas with you this past year and you made me laugh so much with all your funny stories. Mom you are going to be so missed by so many people. I hope you are with yours sisters that I know you missed so much along with your mother and father. You will never be forgotten/ Rest peacefully MOM.

Love you Ex-daughter-in-law
